What can I do with the artwork?

IMPORTANT

  • Please don't ask another artist or animator to make animated / edited versions of my emotes without my permission (this includes doing it yourself too), it is strictly against my Terms of Service and your usage right along with the artwork will be retracted instantly if violated.

Copyright Policy

  • As artist I hold all copyright to my artwork.

  • I retain the right to post or share the artwork at any time.

  • You are not allowed to reproduce or alter artwork by any means.

  • Unfair use of my work may result in DMCA/legal action.

  • Purchasing items from my store or commissioning gives you the right to use the artwork for personal use (Twitch / Discord), it DOES NOT include other usage rights (such as merch).

  • Purchasing licensing rights to certain artworks for an additional fee may be discussed in private.

Crediting Policy

  • All work must be credited where used - credit with my Twitter: @MeiLiArt_

  • Emotes & Animated Emotes MUST be attributed or otherwise credited on Twitch, find out How To Attribute.

...so what if I don't want to credit?

  • Failure to attribute or credit my work may result in refusal for future commissions and or usage right being terminated.

Why is crediting important?

- It helps me to protect my work should there be an instance of tracing or stealing. among other things.

Can I post the artworks on Twitter / other social media?

- Of course, but only with proper credit.

Can I ask another artist to make something very similar to / trace what I ordered from you?

- Absolutely not, this is not only disrespectful but also copyright infringement.

How do I pay you?

Payment

  • All commission payments are done via Ko-Fi only.

  • Successful payment in full is required before / on starting date.

  • Any further requests made in private is done via Ko-Fi tipping after discussion.

Refund Policy

  • I have a strict NO REFUND policy once commission sketches has been started.

  • The only exception is if I cannot meet the given deadline and a compromise could'nt be reached.

  • Refused commissions will be refunded via Ko-Fi's built-in refund system & should show up in your PayPal after a few days.

  • Artwork that gets removed will not be refunded / remade / edited without charge - it is the responsibility of the commissioner to be aware of the platform's TOS!

...why was my commission refused?

  • My personal circumstances may be preventing me from fulfilling your request at the time.

  • I may refuse any commission if I feel it is inappropriate (nudity, gore, etc) or if I am not comfortable creating it.

  • I will not reuse or alter another artist's work, requests of this nature without written consent from the original artist will be refused without hesitation.

  • Your request was for something too similar to what I have done for someone else (please don't ask me for a RATIRL pepe).

Can I tip you somewhere?

- Yes, you can tip on my Ko-Fi! Tips are not neccessary but always appreciated ♥

I don't have a Ko-Fi account, do you have any other payment options?

- No, I currently only accept payments done via Ko-Fi, it is free and very easy to create and account and works with PayPal.

Is it possible to add to my order if I already paid?

- Yes, any additional costs will be discussed in private and I will give you a written invoice with an indication of how much to pay, this payment can easily be done through the Ko-Fi tip option.

Why is it taking so long?

Turn Around Times

  • My turn around times are indicated along with each item's price under more info, it is also shown on my Ko-Fi website when ordering a commission.

  • Please keep in mind that the time estimates are a guideline only and might not be 100% accurate.

  • Some delays can be expected over weekends & overall work progress is slower when my studies are very busy.

  • I will do my best to keep to the time estimates and keep you updated but I appreciate your patience and understanding ♥

Revision Policy

  • Once sketch phase started I do not allow any major model / idea changes.

  • If you are unsure about the ideas just let me know so we can discuss more time to decide + new time schedule, I highly suggest this over giving ideas that you might want to change later on.

  • Revisions to sketches & flat colour is unlimited during sketch phase (excluding major model / idea changes).

  • Any further changes once sketches & flat colour has been revised and approved will occur a fee depending on the desired change.

  • Mistakes on my end (forgotten details, missed info, etc.) are always free no matter what stage the commission is in.

  • I retain the right to refuse continuous revisions at any time if deemed unreasonable.

Cancellation Policy

  • Cancellations are free of charge at any point before commission sketch phase starts - to make this easier & more secure for my clients I will only be accepting payments on the day we start sketches, discussion and planning all take place before payment.

  • Cancellation of entire or partial order after sketch phase starts & payment was processed - The order may be cancelled but will not be refunded, plase take note of my NO-REFUND policy.

  • Any commission not paid in full by starting date will be cancelled automatically.

...can I put my commission on hold?

  • I don't currently reserve commission slots unless you are one of my Ko-Fi members, for everyone else the slots are first come first serve.

  • Once you booked your slot and you want to delay your commission, depending on how long the delay is, you might lose your slot and have to go through the normal process of waiting for one again - in this case any payments made will be refunded.

  • Payment is all done upfront and therefore I don't currently offer any payment delays, only my Ko-Fi members may request a payment delay of up to 2 weeks during which time no sketches will be started but slot will be reserved.

Will you be upset if I cancel my order?

There is no fee or hard feelings if you decide to cancel your commission after the discussion but before payment & sketch phase starts, please just let me know ♥

If i decide to cancel my order, can I just not contact you again?

- Your order will be cancelled if payment is not received & I cannot get into contact with you, yes, but I will most likely also decline any future commission requests as it takes no extra effort to let me know if you wish to cancel.

I changed my idea during the commission, why do I have to pay for something I don't want anymore?

- While I do understand that people can change their minds, I give enough opportunity to revise & rethink before it has to be finalised, even if you may not want the initial item anymore I still spent a lot of time and effort on making it which kindness and understanding will unfortunately not give back to me.

Can I use it for merch?

IMPORTANT

  • Credit is still mandatory anywhere the artwork is used even after purchasing commercial rights.

My commercial use guidelines

  • I don't offer commercial rights purchasing on all my items / commissions, but contact me if you are interested.

  • Base cost of commercial rights purchase is 2x the cost of each unique item but may vary depending on file sizes & formats.

  • Artworks used commercially without purchasing the right to do so will be retracted & reported as needed.

What is commercial use?

  • Using the artwork to create & sell merch.

  • Using the artwork as a reference for purchasing other artworks (i.e commissioning an OC from me and using it as a reference for another artist to create their own version).

  • Using the artwork on sponsorships / contest advertisement.

  • Using the artwork for your shop or in the template of items you are selling.

What is not commercial use:

  • Reposting the artwork on social media (with proper credit).

  • Using it for the specified purpose (i.e using a Twitch emote as a Twitch emote).

  • Using the artwork on your website (non-profit only) or on social media as icon or attachment.

  • Using the artwork to advertise fundraisers / giveaways.
